Biography
Before starting Bloomberg & Associates in 2001, Carol Bloomberg
was Director of Marketing at Johns Hopkins Medicine for nearly six
years where she oversaw the branding effort, market research, marketing
plan development, database and relationship marketing efforts, and
marketing communications. She also created and managed a Medicaid Managed
Care organization’s marketing function. Ms. Bloomberg came
to Johns Hopkins after ten years as Chief Marketing and Public Affairs
Officer at Georgetown University Medical Center, where she established
the first marketing function in the hospital. Over the years, her
responsibilities expanded to cover the Schools of Medicine and Nursing,
the Faculty Practice Group and the Cancer Center as well as the hospital.
In both positions, she managed substantial staffs and significant
budgets.
Ms. Bloomberg’s health care experience began by working in
the Office of Health Maintenance Organizations in the Department
of Health and Human Services followed by a stint at Birch and Davis
Associates where she developed strategic marketing plans for both
public and private entities including home health, chemical dependency,
and health maintenance organizations.
She taught the Marketing Management in Medical Organizations for
both the Johns Hopkins Business of Health MBA program for eight years
and in the School of Public Health for three years. Ms. Bloomberg
has been active in professional organizations, speaking and serving
on boards and committees. She holds a BA from Ohio State in history
and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. |
